The Bhoys went into their game at Fir Park having dropped just two league points under Brendan Rodgers, but they looked to be on the verge of a first league defeat of the season as Louis Moult struck twice for Motherwell in the first half.
At 2-0 down, Celtic needed a response, and got one when Callum McGregor scored just after half time, before a remarkable chain of events. After Patrick Roberts had made it 2-2 on 70 minutes, Lionel Ainsworth put Motherwell back in front on 71 minutes, and Celtic equalised against just one minute after that to make it three goals in as many minutes.
It looked like the two sides would have to settle for a point, but Celtic did claim the victory as Tom Rogic struck in injury time to hand the Bhoys all three points to tighten their grip on top spot in the Scottish Premiership.
After Celtic’s latest win – their eighth league victory in a row – pundit Stan Collymore took to Twitter to offer his reaction to Celtic’s win and the scoreline at Fir Park.
Collymore, a noted Celtic fan, celebrated the win by noting that he has always loved a 4-3 win, having scored the winning goal in Liverpool’s famous 4-3 win over Newcastle United back in 1996.
Former Bhoys striker John Hartson also took to Twitter, as he claims that he told his BT Sport colleagues that Celtic would win even at 2-0 down – and hailed the great spirit in the Celtic squad to come from behind to win.
