Southampton are circling around yet another Celtic player, according to ESPN.

The Saints have signed three players – Fraser Forster, Virgil van Dijk and Victor Wanyama (now of Tottenham Hotspur) -from the Glasgow side in recent years and are potentially eyeing a fourth in Moussa Dembele.

Dembele only moved to Celtic Park from Championship side Fulham in the summer, with the Bhoys taking advantage of FIFA regulations which allow English-based youngsters to move abroad for minimal compensation.

Had Premier League club signed the France Under-21 international, they are likely to have faced a bill of well into seven figures, although his price tag will have skyrocketed after 16 goals in 26 appearances for Celtic.

It does not appear to have deterred them, however, with scouts from Arsenal and Manchester United, as well as Southampton, said to have attended the Bhoys’ 2-0 defeat to Barcelona this week.

Southampton’s striking options currently include Charlie Austin, Shane Long and Jay Rodriguez, although the latter is a reported target for Hull City (Hull Daily Mail).

The Saints were linked with a £25 million move for Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge this week (Daily Express).
