Neil McCann encouraged about Glasgow Rangers’ Josh Windass and Matt Crooks

Neil McCann has told the Glasgow Evening Times that Glasgow Rangers staff have told him that Josh Windass and Matt Crooks have plenty to offer at Ibrox.

McCann has criticised Rangers’ summer signings, with many of Mark Warburton’s additions over the summer failing to impress.

However, McCann insists that Matt Crooks, Jordan Rossiter and Windass could all become good additions for Rangers over the coming years.

“[Matt] Crooks and [Jordan] Rossiter can be forgiven because of injuries,” McCann said. “That is really unlucky and I actually think Rossiter is a good young player who will be a saleable asset.

“As for Crooks, I have spoken to a couple of people who say him and [Josh] Windass have lots to offer. So they have been unlucky there.”

Windass has made a positive impression at Rangers so far, and when used he has generally impressed.

However, Crooks has been unable to show why he was brought to Ibrox from Accrington Stanley.

The central-midfielder has struggled with injury, and has been kept on the sidelines for much of the campaign so far.

Rangers are currently in second place in the Scottish Premiership table, after winning their last match against Partick.

Rangers are next in action tomorrow, when they take on Hearts at Tynecastle.
