Liverpool transfer news: Klopp prepares move for speedy winger having wanted him since 2014

The dust is setting on Liverpool’s disastrous collapse at Bournemouth, as having led 2-0 and 3-1 at the Vitality Stadium, the Reds ended up losing 4-3 on the South Coast.

The Reds’ title challenge took a real dent on Sunday afternoon, and manager Jurgen Klopp will be looking to rally his troops again for this coming weekend’s clash with West Ham United at Anfield.

With less than a month to go until the transfer window opens though, there are a number of rumours surrounding the club and what they could do to boost their squad in the new year.

Finding a right winger to replace Sadio Mane when he goes to the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal in 2017 will be vital, as the wide man provides so much pace and direction that he will be hugely missed in the Liverpool side.

Now, The Sun claim that Liverpool are lining up Spartak Moscow’s Quincy Promes, who certainly possesses the blistering pace that Liverpool will need without Mane.

Elsewhere, Southampton youngster Sam McQueen has signed a new contract with the club until 2021, as confirmed on the club’s official website.

The Mirror reported last month that Liverpool wanted to lure McQueen to Anfield to solve their left back problems, but he has now committed his future to the Saints for the foreseeable future.
