Levante made a great start to the season but come into this match after two really poor performances and results. With Espanyol starting to find their feet after a shaky start and generally strong at home, the value looks to be with the hosts here.
It’s hard to put your finger on what’s gone wrong for Levante but their bubble has certainly been burst. They took momentum into this campaign having easily won the Segunda Division last season and avoided defeat in their opening five games back in the top flight. However they come into this following two defeats to nil. One was by a four goal margin while the other was a shock home loss against an Alaves side who’d failed to pick up a point prior to that.
Espanyol by contrast look to be on the up. Their squad has seen few changes over the summer and they were a solid top half side last season so you’d expect them to continue to climb the league. They competed well against Real Madrid just before the international break and have won their last two home matches, scoring 6 goals in the process.
Their main man in the final third is still Gerard Moreno, who scored 13 times in La Liga last season. He has 3 in his last 4 games this term with all those goals coming at the RCDE Stadium in Barcelona and backing Gerard Moreno to score anytime could be worth backing here.
Espanyol have won 10 of their last 16 home games in La Liga, which is an excellent record. With Levante having hit a sticky patch, going for an Espanyol Win at 17/20 looks like the smart move here.
