Bayern Munich vs Liverpool predictions for Tuesday’s Audi Cup clash in Munich. Bayern Munich play their penultimate pre-season friendly against Liverpool on Tuesday. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.
It’s fair to say that Bayern Munich’s pre-season campaign won’t be filling their fans with confidence so far. Their International Champions Cup tour saw them win one, draw one, and lose two of their four matches, and they have conceded ten goals in their five pre-season friendlies.
Their defeats came to the Milanese duo of AC Milan and Inter, who beat them 4-0 and 2-0 respectively. They also lost on penalties to Arsenal and conceded two goals in a 3-2 win over Chelsea, so there is definite improvements that need to be made.
These improvements need to be made quickly as well. Bayern Munich only have this and another Audi Cup game before their competitive season starts next weekend, with them facing off against Borussia Dortmund in the German Super Cup. They have brought in Corentin Tolisso and James Rodriguez to improve their midfield, whilst other new signings Niklas Sule, Serge Gnabry, and Sebastian Rudy could make their debuts after being rested for the ICC campaign.
Liverpool’s big signings have already been involved in plenty of action this summer. Dominic Solanke and Mohamed Salah are already well integrated with the squad, whilst Andrew Robertson came off the bench in their 3-0 win over Hertha Berlin.
Both Solanke and Salah grabbed a goal in that comfortable victory, and Sadio Mane’s return to action was very welcome. The one worry for the Anfield faithful is the rumoured departure of Phillipe Coutinho, who could be on the move to Barcelona.
Overall Jurgen Klopp will be happy with their summer preparations. Liverpool have won five and drawn one of their six games, including the Premier League Asia trophy. They have scored an impressive 15 goals in these six games as well, so they will be confident of finding the net in Munich.
Considering Bayern Munich’s shoddy defensive work this summer, I can’t see them keeping a clean sheet. However, they have scored in ten of their last 13 friendly matches so they should be able to score themselves at the Allianz Arena. Backing Both Teams to Score at 4/7 looks a good choice, as does a 2-2 correct score predictions at 12/1.
Bayern Munich have scored in 77% of their last 13 friendly matches, but have conceded an average of two goals per game this summer. Liverpool have scored in 100% of their friendly games this summer, averaging 2.5 goals per game.
